The Indonesian Navy has begun to take a seriously no-nonsense approach to illegal fishermen

September 29, 2015 admin 0

The Indonesian Navy has begun to take a seriously no-nonsense approach to illegal fishermen as they blow up two illegal vessels in Ambon Bay after the crews had been arrested and their gear confiscated. This hard stance against foreign poachers is largely due to the fact that the country loses around L15.3 billion every year from illegal fishing practices. There are still an estimated 5,400 ships fishing illegally in Indonesia’s waters.

Incredible Octopus Behavior

September 29, 2015 admin 0

Walking and carrying coconuts are two things that people do not expect octopi to do, and yet there is a video circulating around the internet of an octopus doing just that. Although it appears to be traveling with such a load without a purpose, the fact is that this octopus has a plan. Like other octopi that have been documented doing the same thing, this animal will bring the coconut shells with it and use them …

September 29, 2015 admin 0

People expect to see statues of the Virgin Mary in a number of places, but the bottom of the ocean is not one of them. However, if you go diving off the coast of Bohol in the Philippines, you might get lucky enough to see the Holy Mother a hundred feet below the ocean’s surface.

Amazingly, locals have reported that since the statue was placed there, the number of dynamite fishing incidents in that area have greatly decreased. Although nobody is sure if the two situations are connected, divers who get to glimpse this underwater statue are always amazed.
